Kirsti Meiers is a Scandinavian singer songwriter who never really identified with being a singer but sings “because someone has to do it”. The music needs a voice.

Kirsti Meiers is being described as a blend of Beatles and Björk with vocal resemblances of Kate Bush, lyrics with a wave to Joni Mitchell and live looping vocal harmonies in the style of CSNY.

Creating a new form of musical storytelling Meiers encompasses both traditional ingredients from the singersongwriter heritage with electronic elements turning seemingly contrasting elements into an obvious and self-explanatory new sound.
Meiers started her career on stage as one of 2Mothers in a Carwash before going solo, taking her looper 505 and her beloved Fender Rhodes on stage where she mixed in naughty beats and pre-produced musical landscapes with a hint of fresh, like her Volkswagen Caravan (Supermom). During those years she developing her own style and recorded and produced her first album in her Malmödepartment. Friends contributed on cello (Sanna Martin) and saxophone (Sofi Hellborg) as well as co-production; Lotta Wenglén (Supermom) and Jens Lodén (God Barking).

The debut album Not Without A Song (2018) was well received after years of playing the songs live at venues like Operaen (Christiania, DK), Folk at Heart (Örebro, Sweden), The Malmo Festival (SE), Kvindemusikfestivalen (DK) Garageprojektet Hammenhög (SE), Dunkers Kulturhus at Bushwick Book Club (SE), Folkroom by Sea at Villa Brighton (UK), Folkroom at Harrison, Kings Kross (UK).

After having no choice but letting the performance-activity on hold for a few years, Meiers is now back with a collection of 9 new songs from her new album Seven Songs. The world is not always the way we think it is. Stop counting. Start dancing.
